Yep, this is a fantastic combination dish! If you love pizza, you love burritos, and you aren’t afraid to put the two together, then read on!
I came up with this idea a couple of years ago. I’ve loved it ever since, and so has every person I’ve introduced it to. It’s definitely something to talk about if you’re inviting over some of those boring friends you have (just kidding).
….(sigh) I guess I have more explaining to do? Well, Pizza is delicious, and it’s on what is basically a flat bread or other grain item, burritos are really good, and they’re basically on a flat grain item, as well. Plus, there are certain such frozen items that kind of wrap a pizza up in its own crust, so you should believe in my invention! …Just trust me. It’s great!
What you’ll need:
1 large tortilla
1 cup of pizza sauce
¾ cup of chopped pepperoni
2 cups of shredded cheese
½ a cup of diced green bell pepper
1/3 a cup of diced onion
optional:
¼ a cup of diced jalapeno (for those of you that like it spicy!)
Preparation:
First, lay the tortilla on a flat surface, spread the pizza sauce around it evenly, leaving about an inch or a little less of a ring from the outside of the tortilla to the sauce. Now, add your pepperoni, peppers, onion, and cheese on top of the sauced area. For a quick one, it’s best to just microwave this now, but sometimes, it can be too hot to fold up, so I find it’s also good to fold it up, plop it on the stove in a heated skillet with cooking oil, and just brown the outside. 3-5 minutes on each side of the burrito should do the trick.
If you don’t remember how to fold a burrito, take both sides toward each other so they touch in the center, and now take the bottom and roll it all the way to the top. There’s your burrito! Enjoy!
